Care and Feeding of the Submissive

Care and Feeding is a Holistic “Whole Person" approach to What It Is We Do; that stems from a perspective of responsibility rather than one of entitlement.  Topics we touch on are pragmatism in conjunction with a 24/7 D/s life (as opposed to a life STYLE); integration of Leather into the "real world"; the importance of negotiation and communication, and the occasional bursts of heresy. This class started out as a 100 level class, and has evolved into a “graduate seminar” on relationship dynamics and communication. Come with questions. We’ll find the answers together. If you’ve attended this class previously, IT’S NOT THE SAME CLASS. It keeps evolving, growing as we do in our relationships.

Starting In Service:  The Toughest Job You’ll Ever Love

First and foremost, a service relationship is an interpersonal relationship, with all the normal highs and lows, successes and failures—if that’s not daunting enough, we’ve all read LOADS about how to be the “perfect” service submissive.  Yet we are drawn to service as a calling, or even a higher purpose.  We will discuss what 24/7 service looks like, how to determine if a service relationship is right for you, and how to “be the best you can be.”  Note—we don’t leave out “service tops” either!

Michael’s Bio:

Michael Crecelius has jumped into what it is we do with both feet.

Since his entry into the community, he has been “on the Grand Tour” with his Owner/ Operator. The journey has taken him coast-to-coast, pillar to post, and occasionally he is tied to them <g>

He’s been on the faculty of KCLU at Heart of America, and Dixie Belle,

Taught at Rio Grande Leather and Spring Pandemonium in ABQ, Day of Demo and Debauchery in Las Vegas, ( ask him how many desserts he had at the Bellagio); he writes for Power Exchange Magazine; presented at Tribal Fire, Pep St. Louis, GLLA, judged Rio Grande Leather in 05 and is has taught at Beyond Vanilla and Florida Fetish Weekend and Tribal Fire, just to name a few.

A natural at teaching, he prefers the smaller classes of our realm to the hordes of eager students he used to teach in Grad School at a prestigious university in the desert.

One teeny dissertation away from a PhD; he really enjoys the sociological aspects of our community. That and being sliced with scalpels.

Karen’s bio

Karen Ultra Crecelius has officially lost count of how many people she’s addressed.

As first runner up to Ms World Leather 2004 she has traveled extensively with her boy Michael; talking incessantly to anyone and everyone about the HIV Vaccine Clinical Trials. They estimate they talked to almost half the attendees of Folsom 2004 (one on one; not from a stage). They’ve traveled coast to coast; and attended many events and runs; presenting at some, speaking at others, and recruiting for the vaccine trials at ALL of them.

Karen; like many of the “Middle Aged Guard” (Thanks to Laura Antoniou) found her way to BDSM through the internet. She knew she belonged in the Leather Universe; had known it since early adolescence, getting off on making her boyfriends beg. Lucky for her the people she met early on were real live participants and practitioners; and soon she went out in search of the real live community.

She has been a member of St. Louis Leather and Lace; a board member of the same, co- chair of Beat Me in St. Louis, as well as Spanksgiving, co-chair of both Fetish Balls held in St. Louis; a member of PEP St. Louis and FLOG St. Louis. She is a founding member of NLA-I Philadelphia, an Associate Member of The Men of Onyx as well as a member of Mama’s Family. She received the Pantheon of Leather President’s Choice Award in February of 06.

She has presented at both Fetish Balls; several Beat Me’s, a few Spanksgivings, numerous PEP meetings, Beyond Vanilla, Rio Grande Leather; Spring Pandemonium, Kansas City Leather University/ Heart of America, IMsL, Dixie Belle, GLLA, Creating Change, Day of Demo and Debauchery in Las Vegas, and at Tribal Fire and Judged at Great Plains Olympus, Mr. Cleveland Leather, Rio Grande Leather and SouthEast Leatherfest, ICBB 06,  Southwest Bootblack 07 and Mr. Missouri Leather 07 and is Head judge Emeritus for Mr. Ohio Leather. She was also a facilitator at Master’s Retreat in 05. She MC’d Rio Grande Leather  in ABQ, Ms World Leather in Las Vegas 05, Great Plains Olympus ’06, Dixie Belle ’05 , ‘06and ‘07 and got rave reviews MCing at MLT in Toronto in 07. They even invited her to return.

The loves of her life are her partner boy and spouse Michael; The Best Boy in the Whole Wide World,  and her daughter “The MicroDomme”.

She heads a Leather Family founded on the traditions of Honor and Service; Responsibility and Duty.
